Callling several time the same SP at the same time
Hi,

What append when i Call several time the same SP at the
same time ?  Do they all run at the same time or SQL run
them one after the other ?

Is there a way so SQL run them one after the other ?

Thank you for your help and the for my poor english :o)

Callling several time the same SP at the same time

If called from different connections they are concurrent, if
from a single connection then serially. You can use some
code in the proc to see if it's already running and abort
e.g. set a flag in a status table

If you call your SP from diffrent connections and your SQL Server machine
has more then one CPU, in this case SQL Server may determine to use some
degree of parallelism (if this is the case and you don't want any
parallelism to be used run sp_configure to set max degree of parallelism to
one), otherwise they will be executed serially.
