Managing version 7 from a version 2000 system

Managing version 7 from a version 2000 system

Situation:
Server with SQL server version 7. Local system: (my own new
machine) SQL server 2000 which can connect to the v7 server.

Questions: will there be ANY problem with using the local system
to modify things on the on the server? Should I demand a
downgrade of my own system or an upgrade of the server?

Note: I don't  know much (yet!) of SQl server ;-) I just know
enough to be dangerous ...

You shouldn't have any problems administering a 7.0 machine from 2000 EM as
many have or currently do that very thing.

Auke - you're fine.  SQL 2000 EM can manage SQL 7

Thanks! I just hope that 'manage' includes modifying data, tables
and whatever.
Yeah, I'm paranoid ;-) good old Murphy's Law rules. I've had too
many version related issues with other software ...
