SQL server login failure

 SQL server login failure

I am part of a team working on implementing a web portal.  We are
using SharePoint and have also integrated a SQL database.  SharePoint
resides on one server and SQL server on another. The SQL server is set
up here in Salt Lake and have created a database on it.  We are using
a SQL user account to access the database with ADO and it works fine.
The SQL server start up account is a domain user that has been added
to the local administrators group.

We are now starting to launch the site on a server hosted in
Australia.  It is basically the same set up.  Two servers, one with
SharePoint and the other with SQL.  The only difference is that when I
installed SQL there I told it to use the local system account to start
SQL.

This is the problem.  Both servers have IIS installed.  When I run an
ASP page using the instance of IIS that is on the SQL server
everything works fine.  When I try to use the SharePoint machine's
instance of IIS I get a error that the login failed.  I am at my wits
end.  I get the same result trying to create a DSN on either machine.

Any ideas?  I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me.

I finally got it fixed.  I had to uunistall and reinstall SQL server
using the domain account and it works fine now.
