 Type 4 JDBC driver--Cost
Experts,

Does anyone know how much a type 4 JDBC driver for SQL Server from a
third party vendor costs?  I need a type 4 JDBC driver to connect to a
remote-server from a signed applet. As you all know, you cannot
connect to an ODBC  with JDBC type 2 over a network.

Thanks
Bruce

Hi,

Is this for a commercial project or just for learning purposes?  If
you want one just for learning/tinkering, you can get type 4's from
NetDirect (www.netdirect.com): JDataConnect.  You can download it
fully featured.  Then after 30 days, it will handle only one
connection.  If it's for a commercial project and your employer will
foot the bill, they're not priced too bad: around $700.  Of course
there are other vendors out there.  I needed one for messing with
JDBC/servlets and came across NetDirect.  You can also go to
http://industry.java.sun.com/products/jdbc/drivers and find more
vendors.
