 Upgrading SQL 2000 SP2 8.0.534 to 8.0.679
I attempting to roll out a SQL server with 8.0.534 to the latest
version 8.0.679.  I was doing the backups that you do before copy in
the new files.  I noticed the <Data path for this SQL Server
instance>\Data folder didn't exist.  I figured that couldn't possibly
be a good thing.  So can I just create that directory and move in the
files or do I need to find an older patch then keep moving upward?

Thanks.

Where are your data files kept?

The patch needs to replace certain data files. You may well have your
system configured with the data files on a  different drive and in a
different directory structure.

Do a 'sp_helpfile' in master and take a look at the file path for the
master database files.
