stack overflow using very large SELECT query

My program dynamically creates SELECT queries and in some cases, these
queries are very large. I got a "The server encountered a stack overflow
during compile time" error message. I could try breaking up the query into
multiple queries, but I want to find out what others would do in this case.
Do you tend to work on tweaking sqlserver configuration parameters, etc? My
server is a dual processor with 512MB RAM and I would prefer not to increase
the physical RAM if I don't have to.

Thanks,
 Bob

Bob,
Could you post the stack trace, DBCC OUTPUT that will be recorded in the

stack overflow using very large SELECT query
I'm not sure I can right now. I've got a server assembly (written in C#)
that is called by a web service call (within aspnet_wp.exe). My code trapped
the error after several hours of a long-running process. The error
information was packaged up and retrieved by my client machine via a web
service. This happened in the middle of the night. So the server is no
longer in the same state. The SELECT statement contained about 2000 WHERE
search conditions of the form: DimMember=##### where #### was a number.
