Thanks.

 Merge Replication to Remote Server
Hi,

I get almost the same problem. I am trying to do a merge replication between 2
SQL Server 2000 using 2 Firewall-1 and a VPN using the SKIP protocol. The
snapshot was ok, but the merge agent reports the following message:

Action
447

Action Message
"The subscription to publication 'pubs' is invalid."

Last Command
call sp_MSgetreplicainfo(?,?,?,?,?,?,?)}

Category          Source                                    Number
Agent             Merge Replication Provider           -2147201019
Data source       192.168.2.10                               14010

I try the same replication to a server inside my LAN. This replication was right.
I can see the subscriber through my SQL Enterprise Manager.

If anyone knows the answer...

Thanks,

Liana

 Merge Replication to Remote Server
You are lucky, I searched all over the Internet and finally get the answer from
Google Groups. So the anwser is:

The error is because you use a different name to register your remote server from
the one it has on its own server. i.e. to synchronize data, you got to
synchronize the name of the remote server first. :-)

Not sure if it works for you guys but it does save my ass.

 Merge Replication to Remote Server
Saved me as well.

I saw another message on this newsgroup, somewhere ibetween pages 16-20.
It involves sp_helpserver, sp_dropserver and sp_addserver.
The message was created by Paul John Adams.
