CONNECTION TO AN OLAP SERVER FROM WINDOWS98
Hi

I have installed OLAP services on a computer wich runs under windows NT.
I have no problems  accessing cubes using Access or excel or the MDX
application when i work on this server.
Now i want access these cubes using a remote workstation which runs under
Windows 98 , but my workstation always
fails to connect to the OLAP server.

AnyOne can help me?

Make sure that the MSOLAP.DLL is installed and registered on the machine
that is making the connection. If you are running the MDX Sample App, then
this DLL should have been installed at the same time.
The other thing to check is that the user that is making the connection has
access to the server. Check the server event log to see if there are any
security events raised when you fail to connect.

What sort of message are you getting when it fails to connect?

CONNECTION TO AN OLAP SERVER FROM WINDOWS98
Thanks for your answer Alan;

I installed on the workstation the trial version of SQL-SERVER 7 for windows
98 .
the user has the rights to access the server; elsewhere, I can connect this
workstation to sql-server  and  use shared databases.
My problem occurs only when I try to use the OLAP server.  the error message
sended by Microsoft Data Link is:"cannot connect to server"
