DB-Library connection from OS2 environment

 DB-Library connection from OS2 environment

We have a legacy OS2 application that uses the SQL Server 4.2
db-library dlls to connect (PDBLIB.DLL and DBNMPP.DLL in the BINP
release directory).
This application is working OK under Windows NT 4.0, connecting
to a SQL 7.0 database.

Trying to run the client application on a Windows 2k Pro machine,
the database connection fails with the message: Incorrect
connection mode.  The OS2 ISQL utility does the same thing.

It seems W2K has broken some of the networking in the OS2
environment.  Is there any chance of a fix or workaround...  I
have the source for the application, but it cannot just be
upgraded to Win32 due to the screen-handling components (Vio
etc).  The only obvious solution would be to develop a thunking
dll to emulate db-library, and call into the win32 dblib, but
that's a lot of work....

 Brian,

I'd say your chances are slim to none!  Previous problems I've had like this
with legacy stuff is rarely fixed.  Do you have an MS account manager (TAM) who
could take it forward for you?
