ERROR: 17803 - not enough memory

My guess would be that you don't have enough memory<g>.   How much do you
have and under what circumstances do you get this?

ERROR: 17803 - not enough memory
i use an jdbc driver and  for my query it use cursors
... can be a problem in jdbc if it not release the cursors?

ERROR: 17803 - not enough memory
That explains why I couldn't find that error number.   I am not sure if that
is a sql error getting mangled by the jdbc driver or a problem within the
driver itself.  I would check with who ever it is that made the driver.

ERROR: 17803 - not enough memory
Claudiu,

This error indicates a generic "out of memory" condition. There are as many
different possible root causes of this error as there are consumers of memory in
the SQL Server process space.

SQL Server memory consumers falls into basically 2 categories : SQL and non-SQL.

The non-SQL components include  extended stored procedures, OLE Automation/COM objects, linked
server OLEDB providers and ODBC drivers, MAPI components used by SQLMail, and thread stacks (one-half MB per thread).

Most 17803 problems are due to the non-SQL components. To determine where the problem is would require analysis of
Performance Monitor data captured over a long period of time.

I am not sure what your application is or what the JDBC driver is used for, but if any of its components are loaded into the SQL process space,
then any potential leak in the drivers could cause problems.

I would make sure that you are allowing SQL to dynamically allocate memory. To reduce memory usage thru SQL, make sure that you have
good indexes on your tables. Use Index Tuning Wizard to help with this.

If this is an urgent issue, recommend that you call MS Support to help you identify the problem. Or call the vendor of the JDBC driver to find out if there is a known problem.
