 Replication problem (I think)

Hi,

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Problem:

When starting up the Log Reader task (from a remote distributor) I get
the following error, which I'm not sure is entirely related to
replication:

OS Error 38 (Reached end of file) on device 'C:\sql60\data\master.dat'
during bufget.
Unable to execute sp_repldone on 'SHXXXYYY'

Background:

Using NT 3.5, SQL 6.0, publisher, distributor and subscriber reside on
different servers.

In trying to add a new article to an existing publication - we marked
our publishing database as 'not' enabled - which drop all our
publications and subscriptions.  We've been able to re-create the
publications (push), and have defined the subscribers.  The tables have
been SYNC'ed.

We then started up the log reader task only to get the error mentioned
earlier.

More info:

While trying to get this thing to work, only one table was added to the
publication.  This table is empty and is defined on both the publishing
and subscribing servers.  A record/row was inserted.

- I can see that it has been marked 'to be replicated' in the
transaction log by running sp_repltrans.
- As sp_repldone was not able to run, I wasn't too surprised to see that
the information was still in the transaction log and had not been moved
to the distribution server (MSjob_commands etc...).....

I'm not sure what to try next!!!!  Please let me know if you have
encountered this problem before or have any ideas as to how I can get
this thing up and running again!!

Thanks,
Nadine

I might run a dbcc checkdb on master of the remote server.. It sounds like
you may have a corruption problem (although I'm not certain).
