 SQL 7.0 Backup/Restore , Maybe I am nuts

I am using MSDE for this adventure. I have backed up a database from another
server. this is a sql server 7.0 server. I ran the backup to a backup

Then I copy the backup file to the MSDE box. I run the restore process on
the MSDE server and get the error,

the file .... cannot be used be used by restore. Consider using the with
move option ...

I am perplexed. I am simply trying to restore a backup from one server to
another. I am practicing for a server faliure in the exent i need to swap
out machines when one fails.

I am using MSDE as my restoreing server but that should not  matter. What i
thought would be easy is not.

Any help would be qappreciated.

If you do not restore in the same directory and drive you need to use
RESTORE WITH MOVE as described in the Books Online.
