any guides on this? (cube creation)

hi,

i am having some problem with the analysis server.

currently i have 2 database and one facttable in each.
my dimension database are stored in the first database.

during the creation of my cube, i have attached the 2 database
together as the data source. the creation of the first cube together
with the dimension seems alright but during my creation of the second
cube (from the second database), the system doesnt allow me to select
any dimensions that are available.
(i guess it could be due to access data from another database)

had tried to do partitioning but its not applicable to this becos i
need to add in additional dimension for the second cube.

is there any way to solve this?

hi thanks for your reply.

i had read in the SQL books online saying that a cube and the
dimensions in the cube can only have one data source.

thus to solve this problem, i have created views but it doesnt seems
to solve the problem as it will always populate the temp database till
the system prompt that there is not enough space for the processing.
anyway to solve this??

There is nothing that stop you from having several fact tables in one
starschema in the relational database that feeeds Analysis Services with
data. Normally you have the dimension tables and the fact table in the same
database, because you join the dimension tables to the fact table.
