create a device.

Backup Database AndreDev...
Server: Msg 3201, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Cannot open backup device 'D\MSSQL7
\Backup_BeforeSP\AndreDev_Dump.BAK'. Device error or
device off-line. See the SQL Server error log for more
details.
Server: Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Backup or restore operation terminating abnormally.

My code:
BACKUP DATABASE AndreDev
TO DISK = "D\MSSQL7\Backup_BeforeSP\AndreDev_Dump.BAK"
WITH NOINIT
GO

backup to file fail (without a permanent device)

If this is the exact syntax, it looks like you are missing
the colon after the drive letter. Try -
D:\MSSQL7\Backup_BeforeSP\AndreDev_Dump.BAK
