 Printing Record layout SQL 6.5
How do I print the record layout for tables in a SQL 6.5 database?
In foxpro it's DISPLAY STRUCTURE TO PRINTER
In Access I go through the Tools/Analyze/Document menu item.

But how do I do this in SQL??

BTW I am running SQL tools on my workstation.

Thanks
Michael

Michael,

Check out the section "Generating SQL Scripts" in the SQL Server 6.5 Books
Online.

Thanks for the lead, but you wouldn't have a more specific reference? My
online search yielded many hits but no information.

Michael,

Type in the phrase "Generating SQL Scripts" exactly as shown, with quotation
marks. I get exactly 4 results from the SQL Server 6.5 Books Online. You are
searching SQL Server 6.5 Books Online which comes with SQL Server and not
doing an Internet search, aren't you?

OK. I admit to being dumb as box of rocks.
What kind of script am I trying to create. I'm sure this is obvious, BUT I
still don't get it. Your patience is appreciated.

Michael,

A CREATE TABLE script will generate a "record layout" of the table. Note
that "record layouts" as such is a meaningless term in a relational
database, since data is not stored in records, but in tables. So I am
assuming you are looking to a definition of the tables containing your data.
