Sending a large text field to SQL Server

Sending a large text field to SQL Server
I have an Intranet page that has a scrolling text field.  I have the
text field (via FrontPage) set to no size limit.  The field on the SQL
Server it is saving to (via a SQL Stored Procedure) is specified as
NTEXT.  If I run the stored procedure through Query Analyzer I can use
any number of characters for the field.  If I do it through the
Intranet, it will only let me do around 100 or 200 characters ( I do not
know the exact size ).

Any Ideas?

Thanks.

Strange because ive done this in asp with no problems. do you mean add using
ASP? Ive never had a problem with retreival.

why use a stored procedure and not allow direct access? i believe there in
an 8K limit for parameters of stored procedures but none on insert and
update and select statements.

If you are using a web form you should use the POST method and not the GET
method, the latter is known not to be able to send a lot of data.

I didn't read your first message but it seems you're submitting data via
form using GET method. That method has a rather short size limit. Try with
METHOD="POST" and replace REQUEST.QUERYSTRING with REQUEST.FORM in ACTION
page.
