 Win95 SQLServer6.5 ODBC driver
Does anyone know where I can get the Windows95 driver for SQLServer 6.5?
I've tried running Microsoft's mdac_typ.exe for win95, but it didn't give
me the right one.
The driver that I'm looking for allows for connection to a server at a
particular IP address with TCP/IP as the Net Library.

Have you installed client part of SQL server on your workstation ?

No, I haven't installed the client part of SQLServer.  I just want the
driver so I can connect to the server at my ISP that has SQLServer installed
for use by their customers.  I don't think I would need the client part for
that.

If you do not install the SQL Server Client part you probably are missing
the NetLibrary files and settings, because they are not installed by ODBC.

Hi Todd,
I don't know if MS distribuites the driver all by itself. If you have
any MS Office product, the driver usually comes with it. Alternatively,
you can download the MDAC kit from http://www.microsoft.com/data/odbc
that I think also has the driver. Besides the driver, you will also need
DBMSSOCN.DLL which is the network library for TCP/IP.

Contact your isp where the database server is located. They should be able
to
make it available.

As far as I know Microsoft's ODBC SQL Server Driver needs the SQL Server
Client software to be installed. The driver itself uses DB library as part
of ODBC driver. At least I read about it. If you need more detailed info,
I'll send you some staff about it.

Roman,

 ODBC doesn't use db-lib - at least it hasn't since after v1.
