 replication newbie question
Could there be a variant that replication is made in disconected maner, for
example data from the publishers is delivered in local folder on the machine
runing.
Afterwords, the data is tranported by third party transportation mechanism
to the local folder on the file system of the subscriber and subscriber
fetches updated data from within that folder?
Or the replications are allways made in connected network environment?

Biser,

If I understand correctly what you're asking, I think you
want to read more about transactional replication, PULL
subscriptions. The PULL subscription is meant for
disconnected subscribers, such as sales people who are out
on the road during the day, who might connect to the main
SQL Server (the publisher) only once or twice a day to
synchronize the data. I've noticed in reading about
replication in Books Online that there are some options to
FTP the contents of the snapshot folder to another server,
either a republisher or a subscription server. This might
be what you're wanting to do.

Good luck!
Michelle
