 ClassNotFoundException

Hello:

I am on WebSphere 3.5 and have installed all classes per the install.txt,
yet still getting:

java.sql.SQLException: Could not find JDBC driver class:
com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver

I have added the Program Files\MS Sql Server 2000 JDBC to the classpath and
have also tried copying the 3 installed .jar files to existing classpath
directories and still no luck.

My imports are:

// The data source class for the SQL Server driver
import com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource;
// The driver class for the SQL Server driver is:
import com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver;

and the line which causes the exception is:

            Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");

any help would be appreciated.  thank you

Hi. I'm not a WebSphere expert, but you should check the WebSphere
documentation about putting stuff into it's classpath. You could
run a simple bit of Java in the WebSphere JVM, to ask the JVM what *it*
thinks is it's classpath.
