reclustering SQL Server

john mille #1 / 3	reclustering SQL Server We lost node two in a SQL/NT Cluster. we have gotten that node backup using an old Emerg repair disk, but it does not know anything about the cluster or SQL server. what are the proper steps to get the servers fully clustered again? I have been told that doing a SQL uncluster/recluster will fail because the second node has no knowledge of the cluster that it used to belong to. thanks John

Rob #2 / 3	reclustering SQL Server John, When I had the same issue, we took the cluster offline, and put the database onto a single server (they business where up and running) and re-built the entire cluster from scratch. Couldn't find a nice way of having the second node realise it was invloved in a cluster. David Ga #3 / 3	reclustering SQL Server Which version of SQL do you have? That makes a big differentce. If it's SQL7, you lost the second node, you can just rebulid the second node, delete the second node from NT cluster, rejoin the NT cluster, you can just run sql cluster wizard on the first node to uncluster sql, and recluster sql with the first and second node. Make sure before you uncluster sql, shut down all the services may affect it, and remove service manager from task bar, follow the same set of rules of installation of sql cluster.
