SL mail on 2000 failed ! Urgent help needed
We are trying to setup SQL Mail on Win2k Adv Server with
SQL 2k +SP2 . We are able to use outlook2002 sucessfully
and even are able to create a profile . But when I try it
in SQLmail (Enterprise Manager) it errors out as follows

Error 18025: xp_testmapi_profile: failed with mail error
0x80040111

Please help

Thanks All

Check to see if the profile you made matches the account
that SQL is running under.  The SQL account has to have
permissions to the mailbox that the profile is created for.

Ashish,

Refer this SQL mail FAQ...

Q:Why am I getting mail error 0x80040111 (or similar hex number) when I
try to  send mail?

A:The first step in resolving this problem is determining the error message
associated with the hex error number. MAPI does not support error number
to string conversion, so SQL Mail only returns the error number due to
localization issues. For additional information on the MAPI error return
codes, click the article number below to view the article in the
Microsoft  Knowledge Base:

   1) Q238119 INFO: List of Extended MAPI Numeric Result Codes
   http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q238/1/19.ASP

When you look up the hex value 0x80040111, you see that this corresponds
to   the MAPI error message MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED, indicating that SQL Mail
failed   to logon with the mail profile provided.

0x80040111 corresponds to the MAPI error message MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED. This
indicates that SQL Mail failed to logon with the mail profile provided.  SQL
Mail failed
to login to your mail server (Exchange? POP3/SMTP?) using the profile
information you provided.

Try the following :
- Delete the SQL MAIL Profile
- Reboot the server
- Logon back with the account that SQL Server runs under.
- Recreate the SQL MAIL Profile
- Configure SQL Mail to use the profile name
- Start SQL Mail.
- Test SQL Mail by opening a query window and use xp_sendmail to send
e-mail to   yourself.

This is a known problem with SQL2000 SP2
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q320407

You can get the hotfix from PSS or replace sqlmap70.dll
with the one from SP1 or the original CD to resolve this
