 Identity Issue
Hi,

I have a stored proc which contains:

SET IDENTITY_INSERT MyDB.dbo.TableA ON

When I run the SP within Query Analyser it works perfect.(with SA rights)
However, when I try to use different userID it gives the following error:

"You are not the owner of the table object. Unable to process the SET
operation"

I wonder if there is any "Grant" to grant the right to different user so
they can run the SP.

Thanks. (I am using SQL6.5)

ShenC,

You cannot GRANT IDENTITY_INSERT, only the table owner can override identity
generation. You have to re-think your approach, I'm afraid.
