SQL Server 7.0 Upgrade Wizard and segments
Hello,

We have a SQL Server 6.5 Database in which we have several segements (1
segment per devices). Whenever we try to upgrade this DB to version 7.0 the
upgrade wizard moves all tables into the default segment although we created
filegroups(with the same names as the segments) in the upgrade wizard.

Is there any way to upgrade the tables/indexes in a segment to a filegroup ?

You need to change the create table / index statements to place them on a
filegroup. You can do this by using the stop after each step option in the
Upgrade Wizard, after the 6.x scripting is done, you go change the create
table/index statements in the script files. After you are done you can
simply continue. There is no logical way to map segments to filegroups, that
is why they omitted that.
