 desktop pc vs server pc
i am planning to purchase the action pack bundle

is there any thing fundamentally wrong with loading this
on a desktop pc rather then a server pc.  as an example
will win 2000 server abort when loaded on a desktop pc

It's the OS that really matters as to what you can load.  If your only
running WIN9X, Millennium, or the professional versions of NT,2000 or XP you
can only install the desktop edition but it will run fine within the
limitations specified.  Take a look at this:

thanks for your reply.  the action pack contains win 2000 server and
client software.  i would load win 2000 server and test with clients.
that is why i asked if a p4 desktop pc would work in a test environment.
obvisously you wouldn't consider a desktop for a production environment
