Distributing VB application that uses Analysis Services

Distributing VB application that uses Analysis Services
I am using the Visual studio package and deployment wizard
to create and distribute a VB application that uses
Analysis Services. When I install and try to run this
application on a computer that does not have analysis
manager installed, I get the following error
message "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly
installed".

It works fine on machines that have analysis mangager
installed.

Is there a way to run this VB application without having
to install analysis manager?

This depends on how your application is using Analysis
Services...

If you are using DSO, you need to distribute the DSO
components with your application.  There are MS knowledge
base articles that step you through doing this.

If you are using pivot table services you need to
distribute this with your application, again there are
knowledge base articles for this too.

If you are using the MSOLAP data provider to run MDX
statements against your cubes then this provider will
need to be distributed.  I don't know if this can
packaged separately to pivot table services or not, sorry.

Hope this helps
James

Apologies if I am missing your point:

I presume your VB code creates an ADO connection and uses it to return
a ADOMD cellset? Any computer that runs your program will need the
DLLs installed for both of those.

In Visual Studio, select Project > References, and tick both:
 - Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.6 Library
 - Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (Multi-Dimensional) 2.7 Library
