 Eval Copy on XP: Cannot logon or Connect to Eval SQL Server 2000

I have win XP home edition, and I installed the
Evaluation version of SQL Server 2000 with no issues.
However, I am unable to start the server, and I get these
errors: A connection could not be established to (LOCAL)
Reason: SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
ConnectionOpen(Connect())
Please verify SQL Server is running (it's not) and check
your SQL Server registration properties (by right-
clicking on the (LOCAL) node) and try again.
When I right-click on the (LOCAL) node, I get this
message:
An error 1069 - (The service did not start due to a logon
failure) occured while performing this service operation
on the MSSQLServer service.

 Eval Copy on XP: Cannot logon or Connect to Eval SQL Server 2000

Hi Tom,

This may due to the incorrect password for the SQL Server or SQL Agent or
SQL Server Executive startup service account.
