 persisting recordsets to XML

Hello

I am trying to create an paged web-view using XML.

Instead of using ASP to loop through the recordset
depending on which page they are viewing I would like to
be able to take the exact number of records from the DB
(SQL 2000) in XML. Or failing that persist the recordset
to XML.

The problem I am having is controlling the number of
records. Suppose a user has 40 records, 10 per page, I
using the 'select top * .. clause I can get the first 10,
but how do I get the next and so on.

If I have to whole recordset 40 records I can use the
getROws method but that leaves me with an array which I
need to transform into XML. My goal is to get 10 records
at a time into a DOM object, with a querystring variable
indicating which set of 10 to take etc.

Thank you for any assistance.

Dominic
