Help please, restore a database backup problem!
Hi,all,
I just restore a database called 'NetDB'. Everything looks
fine and I got the message like this 'Restore database
finished'. But the problem is I can not access the 'NetDB'.
the status of the DB is 'loading'.

If I try to access it from query analyzer. the message
like this:'can not open the user default database <ID>.
using master instead.

What's wrong?
Thanks!

In Query Analyzer (QA), run this;

    use master
    go
    restore database NetDB with recovery

Brian,

Log on using ISQL.EXE, as mentioned in the last section of the below url.
From there, change your default database using sp_defaultdb.

Help please, restore a database backup problem!
By any chance did you do your restore using BackupExec/Veritas?

There could be any number of things you did that could have gotten you into
this mess.  I suggest you look at these articles and try each one.

Q307864  Login Fails w/ Error Message 4062: "Cannot open user .."

Q196076  Cannot Open Default Database <ID>. Using Master Instea

Q259561  Error Message 4062: "Cannot open user default database...

You might also consider these possibilities:

   - the user was a member of an NT global group    - this group was a
member of a local group    - the local group had an invald default database
   - fixed the default database of the local group

It is also possible you deleted your login's default database.  I sure hope
your are connecting to Query Analyzer as SA (as long as your server is set
to both Windows and SQL authentication), and your default db for the SA
login is MASTER.  If it is not, then make it so.

I have also seen this problem when the users in the NT group were actually
members of 4 other NT
groups in SQL as well.  One of these groups had a default database which
that
group did not have access to.    Check all of the groups that the user is a
member of.  If one of the groups has
a default database which they don't have access to, either change the
default
db or give them permission.   Also if one of the groups has a default
database which is in 'dbo use only' the
same error will occur.  If this happens remove the 'dbo use only option'

You can delete the database and restore it again from your
