SET IDENTITY_INSERT

 SET IDENTITY_INSERT
Hi,

I have a stored proc which contains:

SET IDENTITY_INSERT MyDB.dbo.TableA ON

When I run the SP within Query Analyser it works perfect.(with SA rights)
However, when I try to use different userID it gives the following error:

"You are not the owner of the table object. Unable to process the SET
operation"

I wonder if there is any "Grant" to grant the right to different user so
they can run the SP.

Thanks. (I am using SQL6.5)

Please don't multipost. See my response in .server.

 SET IDENTITY_INSERT
ShenC,

see books online "set identity_insert".

<quotation>
Execute permissions default to the sysadmin fixed server role, and the
db_owner and db_ddladmin fixed database roles, and the object owner.
</quotation>

 SET IDENTITY_INSERT
Dennis,

Shen posted that he is using SQL Server 6.5. Fixed server roles were
introduced with SQL Server 7.0

When posting, inclusion of SQL (CREATE TABLE ..., INSERT ..., etc.) which
can be cut and pasted into Query Analyzer is appreciated.
