I am receiving all the issues described in Q324479
( http://www.***.com/ %3ben-us%
3b324479).

The KB article states to contact Microsoft for this
patch.  I don't see an easy way to contact them short of
calling (which seems to be what they suggest).  Is there
an email you can send to for these types of patches or
what?  Why is it not available to download from the Kb
article anyway for those who need it?

If anybody has a copy of this patch please let me know (or
if you know any other way I can aquire it as I'm at a stop
right now).

Yes, to get a patch you need to open a case with Microsoft. As far as I
know, the only patches that MS makes available for public download are
those that addresses security issues.

The reason for this is that hotfixes have not been as throughly tested
as an RTM release or a service pack. There could be regression bugs
(that is new bugs, which does not appear in the original version).
Therefore, MS does not want people to download and install hotfixes
at a whim.

I believe that it is also the case that when you open a case and request
a hotfix, and later a service pack that includes the fix comes out, MS will
contact you and nag you to install the service pack. I would also expect
them to contact you if they find regression issues in the hotfix.
