Int field type and error messages..
Hi all,

I'm sure someone can answer this one with the greatest of ease...

Typically I've known an 'int' type to have an upper value of 32 thousand
something, and the same as a negative value...

With SQL Server it seems higher...thing is I've been testing stuff and
exceeded it, so I'd like to know what the highest number is...

Int field type and error messages..

Damn that control-B combo!!!!

As I was saying...

This :

for example produces this error message

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e57'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The conversion of the varchar
value '9999999999' overflowed an int column. Maximum integer value exceeded.

Stick another 9 on the end (pageid=99999999999), and

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e57'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]String or binary data would
be truncated.

is produced

This however is ok...

clearly exceeding the 32 thousand thing...

can anyone tell me what the highest number is please?
