Calling COM object from Transact-SQL stored procedure
I am looking to a way to call to COM object from within a standard
transact-sql stored procedure. Any ideas?

So far, I have devised one way of doing it would be to use and extended
stored procedure to call the interface.

Check out the sp_OA.... stored procedures in your master database.
BOL has info on how to get started with this.
