 Exporting from DESKTOP to SERVER
Hi, I have developed a DB on SQLServer7 DESKTOP and now want to move it to a
SERVER.

If I use DTS to Export then I get a message saying "The license for the
installation of MSSQLServer on your source and destination does not permit
the use of DTS"

So how do I move my db from my Desktop machine to my Server?

If you want to move the structure of the database . generate the script and
save it in a sql file
that move this file to the new machine and execute it

AFAIK it's impossible to do DTS-Import-Export actions with MSDE. That sounds
silly, but I read this at Microsoft.
Instead of this, try to setup a snapshot replication. Execute it once and delete
publication. That should work.

Just additional note to Juergen
Snapshot replication will not transfer the RI to the new database

Referencial Intergrity ...
that will not be copied by default .. you have to specify that you need the
PKs in the snapshot

I had the same problem, I got round it by setting up a DTS packake,
executing this package seemed to work (don't ask me why, but it did)
