Unix to SQL server via perl

Is there a source, cookbook, faq, genius out there who can at least
outline the steps required to set up a Unix-perl client to talk to an NT
(alpha) sql server.

Right now, I am using a Linux box as the hopeful client though that is
open  for negotiation.

Look for the Sybperl on the web.  This allows you to do DB-Lib call from
perl scripts.  So that should allow you to communicate with any MS
SqlServer, assuming you can already communicate with them from your Unix
box.

Is sybperl the only way to do it?  We will also need to connect to an Oracle
database in the near future and odbc seemed to
be the best fit, but I don't know of any odbc clients for unix (linux).
