Replication over dil-up?

 Replication over dil-up?
Hi,
I have two MSSQL7.0 SP2 both running on Win2k Professional. I am using MS
ACCESS 2k front-end on them and would like to do daily merge replications on
them.
1. I get error during push/pull that it can't connect to other SQL server
(subscriber)?
2. Are there some active-x controls I could use to handle manual replication
from VB clients?

Any answer, link would help ...

tks

 Replication over dil-up?

Hi,

r u trying the replication over dial-up, bcoz ur subject
tells it, try some of the following steps, this may
   help u,

r u able to connect to server 1 from server 2 using
access/2000 & see any of the databases,

if u r not able to do this, then u have to create
a alias to the server to which u r trying to connect,
run "cliconfg.exe" on the client, give the m/c name
   & the IP address, network = tcp/ip,

now open access/2000 create an empty project (.adp file),
goto file/connection, u get a popup give the name
of the m/c which u gave it in "cliconfg.exe",
click the drop-down list for the database,

now u sould be able to see the databases on the server,

if u r able to do this, then u can pull a subscription

 Try this, best of luck

 Replication over dil-up?
Tks, but I mannaged to make it work quite fine. Luckily, I knew already the
stuff you explained, I was actualy looking wor more advanced settings on
replication itself...

Btw, I mannaged to make and execute a push subscription of a databasa on
server A, but now I can't make a pull subscription from server B, is there
anything I'm missing ir is that the way it should work?
