 Help! Turn Off Log
Greetings!

I'm trying to execute a simple stored procedure that contains a lot of
recursive "insert" and "delete" using "tempdb".  But I don't have enough
space for the log file and whether the log exists or not really doesn't
matter.

How can I turn off "log" before I start running my SP and later turn it on?

Thanks in advance!

Everything in the SP is implicitly considered as one logged transaction,
therefore all records affected are written to the log and will not be
written
to the database until the SP finishes.

Three options. One, you make enough log space available to run the SP.
Two, you explicitly commit work in the SP (COMMIT). This will free
log space but will write affected records to the database, which may not be
what you want. Three, you rethink your recursive solution and number of rows
affected (at once) by the SP.

You can't, it's the way things work.
