Unable to connect using multiprotocol - Error 1703
Please help. When I try to set up an DSN to connect to my SQL Server using
multiprotocol it fails with error 1703 - 'unable to create temporary
database files'. This machine has just been built. I can connect using TCP.
I can connect to my development machine (on the same LAN) using
multiprotocol with no problems.

Regards

Jon

Unable to connect using multiprotocol - Error 1703

Latest development is that I changed the IP address - I changed the last
octet from 253 to 59 - now I can connect - I thought both these IPs were on
the same subnet but I guess our routers think differently - the routers are
beyond my control so I'll never know.

Unable to connect using multiprotocol - Error 1703
Latest update is that I often lose connectivity - sometimes even in
Enterprise Manager (I can always connect by a plain old TCP DSN). Strangely
though, just the act of changing the IP and rebooting seems to fix it -
obviously this option willnot be available when the machine goes live...
