sql creating different resultsset ISQLW vs RDO--ODBC

I am creating a result set from the select statement below the number of
records returned when executed from a rdoconnection is different than the
number returned when run from ISQLW.  ISQL returns many more records and
appears to be correct the rdo resultset contains a subset of the records
returns from ISQL.
I copy the select to the clipboard in the VB program so I can be sure I am
running the same statement in both places.

Is there some syntax limitation in ODBC that I am violating?

select p.picknumber,p.packnumber,p.SupplyToStore,p.RequiredDate
from DDPROD..packheader p
where not exists
        (select t.picknumber from DDPROD..trippack t where p.picknumber =
t.picknumber and p.packnumber = t.packnumber) and       ((masterpicknumber =
picknumber and masterpacknumber = packnumber) or (masterpicknumber = NULL
and     MasterPacknumber = null))
order by SupplyToStore

TIA

Istar is experiencing problems with news so replying to the above address
would be most helpful

Darryl,

Although MasterPickNumber and MasterPackNumber may not be ambigous,
PickNumber and PackNumber appear to be (in the second Select statement).

Have you tried the same statement using an alias prefix in front of all
column names?  Also, I in would try a different syntax for the use of NULL.
 For example, instead of using

        MasterPickNumber = NULL

try

        alias.MasterPickNumber IS NULL
