 INVITE - File Security Usability Study

DO YOU USE ACCESS CONTROL LISTS? DO YOU NEED FINER CONTROL ON THE
PERMISSIONS OF FILES ON YOUR NETWORK?  If so, Sun invites you to
evaluate a new graphical user interface (GUI) we are developing that
allows users to change file/folder permissions and its access control
list. This is an excellent opportunity to voice your opinion while the
product is still in development.

SunSoft Usability Labs is seeking computer users who are familiar with
the concept of file/folder permissions to participate in the following
usability study:

STUDY TOPIC:    Access Control List (ACL) Usability Study

STUDY LENGTH:   1.5-2 hrs.

STUDY DATES:    Choice of "ONE" of these three days:
                Tue, March 12; Wed, March 13; Thu, March 14
                Study dates/hours are flexible to fit your schedule.

LOCATION:  SunSoft's Usability Engineering Center in Mountain View, CA
           A map will be provided upon confirmation  

PURPOSE OF STUDY:
We would like users familiar with File Permissions and/or Access
Control Lists (ACL) to evaluate the new graphical user interface (GUI)
SunSoft is designing for ACL functions to verify its usability and
ensure it meets the needs of potential users.

DURING THE STUDY YOU WILL:
- Evaluate the functionality and ease of use of Sun's new GUI for
  executing selected ACL functions.
- Discuss your likes, dislikes, concerns, and ideas
- Receive a special gift in appreciation of your time and feedback

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE:
- computer users familiar with the concept of file/folder permissions
- able to answer "yes" to either one or both of these questions
        * Are you familiar with read, write, and execute permissions?
        * Do you currently use access control lists on
          Solaris 2.5, other UNIX platforms or Windows NT

AS A PARTICIPANT, YOU ALSO:    
        - are willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement
        - are willing to be video taped during the study
          (your identity will be kept in confidence)
        - work/live within driving distance to Mountain View, CA
