 Report question

Hello,

I have a problem with a report. I call the report trough a C-procedure
:

execlp("report", "report", output, repname, database, params, "-s",
(char *) 0);

But when in the variable params is filled with quotes (" ") I get the
follwing error:

E_RW1001 Bad parameters specified at or near ''')'
Correct usage of REPORT command is:
             REPORT dbname [[-m..] table | [-r] report | -i..] [-d]
               [-f..] [-qn] [-ln] [-wn] [-vn]
               [-t|+t] [-b|+b] [-5] [-6]
               [-nofirstff|-firstff]
               [-h] [-s] [-uuser] [-oprinter] [-nn] [({param=val})]
               [-P] [-GgroupID]
 Processing stops.

Does anyone know how I can use quotes (" ") without getting the error?

Thanks.

Kind Regards,

Michel Mansens

What exactly are you passing in the parameter list, and in the other
variables?  I note that you're not using CALL REPORT, so the report
program should be getting exactly what you pass.  Perhaps the problem
is actually in the output or repname parameters.

This is what's in the parameter list:

output  : /psu/lijst/12321.wpd
repname : vfac_opv.rw
database: mvsprg
params  : datum = '01.01.2002', oms = 'Excel 200 ST 'XTRA Light''

The problem I know. It's because of the extra ' ' in the oms param.
But does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Kind Regards,

Michel

Any quotes (" or ') in the params variable may need to be escaped to
get past the shell.
Which quotes are allowed has varied between Ingres version, nowadays
you should only be using single-quotes for strings.
