Germain,
If you are not using the Object Management Extension then
the unload / reload method should work fine. The copy
scripts will need to be tweaked a little, but it should not
be too difficult.
ABF really has not changed but the options file may need
to be altered (again, not too difficult but may require a little
bit of trial and error). I believe that 6.3 no longer allowed
the use of double quotes for SQL (but 6.2 did for
compatibility reasons). It has been many years since I
have worked with 6.2 or 6.3 so my memory about this
may be incorrect (version 5 used double quotes instead
of single quotes (since everything was converted to quel)).
If there were embedded programs involved then minor
coding changes would be required to change the include
file path. The path used to be relative to the location
where the compile occurred, but from 6.4 forward it is
relative to the location of the source module.
Ingres II has many new features so it would probably be
beneficial to have a knowledgeable Consultant assist
you with this process.
