 TIME Aware Problem
Does anyone known how to make foxpro time aware? So that when a certain time
occurs it trips an event flag. Any suggestions appreciated.

This is difficult to accomplish in this version of FoxPro since the READ is
an internally closed loop with limitted hooks to the 'outside'.  You can
dinker with TIMEOUT clauses on your READ, but the interface becomes a bit
clunky as a result:

  DO WHILE !done
    READ VALID myValidHandler() TIMEOUT xxx
    IF !gChangingRecord AND myTimeCondition
       DO myTimeThingy()
    ENDIF
  ENDDO

There might be other methods, and I'd be interested in seeing them too.

we need a .FAQ on this one; Pinnacle, Xitech, and some other guy have
event libs for FPD & FPW.

I now writing an FLL to handle a lot of Windows timer functions - as in
setting a variable at XX:YY:ZZ, or setting a variable after so many
hours/minutes.  The fll also includes functions that will allow Foxpro to
execute a function every so many minutes (refresh the screen, for example).
If you'd like to beta, I'll send you a copy...  If you are working in DOS,
this stuff is a bit harder, but still possible - let me know if that's what
you are working with.

NetLib from Pinnacle Publishing has ontime and ontick functions that should
allow you to do about anything.
