"DSN-less" connection

 "DSN-less" connection

I am using a IgniteFusion a web script language ( similar to
ColdFusion but
 free) to access the backend database. In order to hook up to the
database I
 need to use an ODBC connection which I create though the ODBC manager
in the control panel. I recently learned that I can access ODBC
without
creating a DSN in the control panel by using a "DSN-less" connection.

For example:

<ign:SQL dsn="" connect="DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver
(*.mdb)};DBQ=C:\InetPub\wwwroot\DBFile.mdb;" name="MyQuery">
        SELECT * FROM UserTable
</ign:SQL>

<ign:SQL_RUN Name="MyQuery">
    #UserField#<br>
</ign:SQL_RUN>

Where can I find more info on "DSN-less" connections and where I can
get information on other Drivers such
as Excel,DBase, etc..

thanks

remember though that this is not possible in CFMX any more bc. it's Java and
uses JDBC
