windows 2000 server and DOS butil / ERROR
How do i get BUTIL (dos) to work on a windows server 2000 with pervasive sql
2000
I get error when trying to run butil -recover x x

ERROR :
error - (in dos)
the system cannot find the file BTRCALLS

error - (in a windows box)
butil.exe - OS/2 Subsystem Bound Application Load Failure

You are attempting to execute a bound dos - os/2 application. This
applicatin uses an unsupported os/2 API
and therefore cannot be executed by the os/2 subsystem.

Normaly it means that Butil dont find the "WBTRCALL.DLL" it is in
"x:\windows\system" under Win98 or in "x:\Wiint\System32" under
Win2k/Winnnt. Or it ist under "x:\PVSW\BIN" the Installation-Path of your
Pervasive-Client32 or WSE Engine but in this case the Path must be set in
the Enviorment.

Kenneth,

That error appears when you use the old v5.10 butil.exe.
Pervasive.SQL 2000 comes with a Win32 version of butil that should be
installed in your \pvsw\bin directory.  The latest DOS version of
butil will be in your \pvsw\bin\dos directory.  Both of these of the
-recover functionality.  If for some reason you absolutely must use
the old v5.10 DOS butil.exe on a Windows 2000 machine, you can try

forcedos butil -recover x x

from a command prompt.  Forcedos is a Microsoft utility that tells
Windows that you want to run the specified app as a DOS app only, not
as a bound OS/2 app.

Hope that helps,
Richard
