Socket error ret=0, errno=0

 Socket error ret=0, errno=0
I'm getting  'Socket error ret=0,errno=0" when I'm going looping through a
very long table. I have an assign statement inside the loop. It process some
amount of data before I get this error.

I'm connecting to SCO Unix using a WIN2K client. The error is not defined in
Unix. I don't get the error if the server is an WinNT or Win2K.

Any ideas?

 Socket error ret=0, errno=0

Hi.

I have not used Progress for several of years, but I can imagine a couple of
reasons to get this message.

Bug in the Server - have you checked the knowledge database?
Bug in the Client - again have you checked with the knowledge database? The
client does not  necessarily use the same part of the code to access the
Windows Server as the Unix Server. So there is no guaranty that if the
Client is working for one server platform, that it would be without faults.

The Unix machine has intruder alarm switched on. When it sees that you are
accessing the server alot, it may think of you as an intruder and shuts your
connection down.

Or it might be something completly different. But you have something to look
for.
