 Newbie: BUTIL and VB
Hi,

Is it possible to call the Btrieve Utilities through VB. For example
the dos command:

        Butil -Stat <btrieve file>

I am trying to recreate the Butil commands in a VB project.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

All BUTIL commands can be just as easily completed as normal Btrieve
requests.  For example, a BUTIL -STAT is only three operations: Open(0),
Stat(15), Close(1), and you can display the output any way you like.  In
fact, the LISTSTAT utility on my web site does just this thing, but
accepts wildcards for filenames and can limit its output to important
pieces of info, such as Number of Records.

Otherwise, there should be a way to spawn off a SYSTEM command in VB
SOMEHOW...
