Novell server abends Bspxcom.nlm or Btcom.nlm when create new db in PCC

When attempting to create "New Database" on Novell Netware 4.2 server,
the server abends (BSPXCOM.NLM or BTCPCOM.NLM, depending upon which
protocol is configured).

Netware 4.2 SP9
PVSW 2000 SP4
Test PVSW Database Create operation:
Try without NAV running on server
PCC "New Database"  = abend upon "Finish"
ABEND:  BSPXCOM.NLM
Set Engine to allow TCP/IP PROTOCOL along with SPX
Set odbc mger to use tcpip
PCC "New Database"  = abend upon "Finish"
ABEND: still with BSPXCOM.nlm !!!???
Don't allow SPX at all; Only TCP/IP
PCC "New Database"  = abend upon "Finish"
ABEND:  this time with BTCPCOM.nlm
We have tried running the PCC on different PCs
Win98
Win2K
With Netware Client
Without Netware Client

If I use existing db name and modify it to point at the DB I want, it
works fine. Just creattion of new DB has problem

We've noticed similar behaviour on other servers for some time now and
have reported it. It's a sp4 issue, the problem does not exist with
sp3. We've traced the problem as far back as the mkde. So far the only
workaround seems to be to use the sp3 mkde (7.90 version) when you
need to create a new database and then swap it back with the sp4
version again.

There is a patch for this available from Pervasive.
Unfortunately it has not hit the web yet, but soon.
If you need it now, you can give them a call and they will get it to
you.
