Performance Monitoring in Ingres using shell scripts

Hi,

I am trying to monitor for the following Ingres II 2.0 Parameters -

1) Restart Ingres if unable to connect to database
2) File system usage where the ingres database is stored
3Archive status
4)Fragment Table size < 2GB
5)Check for database crash
6)Any user waiting for lock/transaction
7)High Number of deadlocks and lock contention
8)High table activity (read/write)
9)Report on table size growth
10)Report on shared memory usage pattern
11)Idle sessions
12)Number of connections and transactions
13)Read and write cache percentage
14)Excess no of I/O requests in queue
15)Excessive number of rejected connections
16)Any long transactions
17)Check for all the services of Ingres are running

Does someone know to monitor any of the above parameters through shell
scripts?

Also, are there any standard commands that let one moitor for the
same?
Or can it be done by reading from any environment variables, log files
etc from my monitoring shell scripts(using ksh/awk etc)?

With my earlier request for the same on the newsgroup, I got a reply
saying that a tool named DBAnalyser can monitor the above parameters.
Does anyone know from where I can download the tool?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Prakash.

Performance Monitoring in Ingres using shell scripts

Hi Prakash,

I am with Database Management Technology, Inc., the developer of DBAnalyzer.
At this time, we do NOT have DBAnalyzer available for download on our web
site.  However, I will be happy to send you a DBAnalyzer CD and installation
guide so you can evaluate the product, free, for 30 days.  If you would like
for me to send you the software, please reply to me with your full name,
company name, address, e-address and telephone number.  Also, please let me
know if you have any patches/Service Paks installed on your Ingres II 2.0
system.  What platform/operating system version are you running?

Thank you for your interest, I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,
Lois
