Basic question - saving in CSV format

I need to be able to save records in .csv format. I would like to use
Lotus Approach but it does not seem to offer me that option.  I  also
have access to Claris Filemaker Pro 2.1 or 4th Dimension 3.54.

Can anyone suggest a suitable application, please?  The database
itself will have about 1000 records but be very simple and I will niot
need complex search facilities etc.

Easily done in Approach. Use:

File... Export... Export type... Text - Delimited(*.txt)...  {choose your
fields and filename, which can end in .csv or rename it later}... Text file
options... Comma... OK.

OK?
