Psql ODBC request, server high usage

Hello all,
I got a strange abend on my server
It is running Netware 4.11 PSql 2000i SP3
One of my developpers sent a Sql statement invoking an 'IN' clause something
like : select cliid from clifou where socid='D' and cliid in select from
clifou where socid='S'. the user canceled his app but the server did not.

The server got to 99% utilization and it was quite impossible to access even
on the console. Every user got a 3011 error. I did not know how to
stop the server so I did a unload nwodbcei. This caused and abend on the
server.

My questions : is it possible to stop a SQL Odbc request ?
is this a normal behaviour to get a 99% usage an not be able to stop

Thanks in advance
Hubert

Psql ODBC request, server high usage

You should be able to stop an ODBC request by connecting to the server with the
PSQL monitor, then terminating the SQL connection.

For what its worth, this looks like a non-correlated subquery, and there is a
known performance problem with some of these on SP3.  It is fixed in some of the
FTF's for Sp3, and is expected to be fixed in SP4 as well.
